Scenic Saturday was Great

06/12/17

Scenic Saturday – the 6th Annual OLD RED TRAIL Rummage Sale was a great day.  The weather was super and there were many people from far and wide that traveled to the towns.  We had over 100 rummage sales and hundreds of buyers.  People registered from many places in Montana, Minnesota, South Dakota, Texas, Kansas, and so many towns in North Dakota.   I think the OLD RED TRAIL has established a reputation.  The rummage sale in 2018 will be June 2 - - - first Saturday in June.  Thanks to all sale participants who registered and all buyers.

For New Salem, thanks to the Security First Bank and Capital Credit Union for donating some printing of the sales sheets and maps.  I truly appreciate your generosity as we use hundreds and hundreds of maps.  There are any hands that contribute to the success of the sales in all the towns.

As you are planting flowers, vegetables, herbs, etc. do remember the Taylor Nursery.  Not only do they have an amazing assortment of plants, but they, also, have an awesome display of items in their shop - - - for indoor and outdoor gardens.  Do plan a trip to Taylor!!!!

It was a busy weekend in the community.  The Country Fest was held at the fairgrounds in New Salem along with a golf tournament at Red Trail Links.  Relay for Life was held in Bismarck.  And all town rummage sales were held in Lincoln and Wilton.

A couple weeks ago I journeyed to Minneapolis/St. Paul for a get-away and mostly for a concert by Neil Diamond.  He is a very favorite entertainer of mine and at his age of 76, he is still powerful.  Many of his songs have a real story to tell and “America” is enlightening.  He wrote it years ago and is certainly relevant today as we discuss immigration.  We are all immigrants.  What a wonderful couple of days to share with my sister.

Driving the OLD RED TRAIL is still fascinating and beautiful; however at this time, please do pray for rain for the beauty of the earth - - - - for farmers and ranchers - - - - for our brothers and sisters.

Until next time, Be Well, Do Good Works, and see you on the OLD RED TRAIL.
